More lessons and rejoicing about talking to my friends in Finland

And another month has begun. 4 to go :P Actually, I'm kinda sad that this will someday end... I haven't had enough of Japan to satisfy me yet. But I hope I will have enough until the time to leave comes. I'll at least try my best ^_~ (When the money arrives and I can leave my room for other than school...)

Learning Japanese is so much fun! I really like Inui-sensei. She's a whole lot better than Takada-sensei. Today we went through family words and she gave me a kanji set for homework. I really feel like I want to learn a lot with her. I got the first Minna no nihongo book from the Intenational Office so I can review a little and then we'll get to book 2. If I knew I could take books home from the office, I wouldn't've gotten those Nihongo de hanashou books, but I guess there's no harm in flipping through them as well. Ah, now I feel like doing some homework ^_^

The other lessons, a couple of lecture classes with Thorn-sensei, went well, too. Didn't understand very much, but that doesn't matter. We had History of Manga, where we read and discussed Ashita no Joe. (Next week it's gonna be Rose of Versailles and something else. Nice, I liked the Rose of Versailles anime ^_^) Then there was Issues in Manga, where the students brought their favourite manga and presented them to the class. I learned a lot of new manga titles, though I couldn't get all the names down. Something-no-something-no Liddell and a story of a boy who wants to be a girl seemed like the most interesting ones. I'll try and find them in the bookstore the next time I get there, even if it's an almost impossible task.

After school I went to get my computer connected again, but that was the last time I'm gonna carry it around school... It's way too heavy and most of all valuable to be taken around school. But I got it there and did some file transferring, got my portfolio to a different server and stuff, and talked a lot with my boyfriend and my class in Finland. It was so great to talk to my schoolmates again. They even have a webcam now, so I can watch them sitting in the class :P They were all very envious (:P) and asked what was going on here and laughed at how I fell into a rice field with my bike... (Yeah, that's what happened when I fell, I guess I didn't tell the whole story... My bike slipped off the pavement into a rice field. Funny, maybe, but not nice, as there's a 50 cm drop.)

My mum and dad are gonna come here the end of this month. They'll be a couple of days in Tokyo first, then come here for a few days, and spend the last night in Osaka. I'm planning on going to meet them in Tokyo. It'll be so great, I'll get to show the sights of Kyoto, my hometown, to them ^_^ It'll be difficult to decide what to show, though, 'cause there's so much to see. I'm thinking Kiyomizudera temple, Maruyama park and Ryoanji temple at least, then maybe Arashiyama, Heian jingu shrine, Nijo castle or the Fureaikan museum. Depends on what they want to see. And Gion and downtown of course. The Fire festival and Jidai matsuri should be on the 22nd, right when they're here, and then there's the big market at Toji temple. I really hope they'll enjoy it ^_^

Ah, tomorrow I'll go get the Internet connection form filled, so I might be Wired at home soon. Then I thought I'd check the bank as well, to see if the money has arrived yet. I don't think it has, but I'll have to get most of the last 2000 yen from my account. I got this paper in the mail today, and it seems like some notice from the Post Office, so I'll go and check that too. Wonder what that is, has someone already sent me something?

Endnote: As I was washing my teeth, I saw a small lizard hunt a moth across the window. Even the wildlife is so cool here. The animals in Finland are too shy.
