Aargh!! Sitting in the train for 7 hours without a good book or videos to watch is pain >____< I have a new, fancy cellphone with which I could go to the internet (which I've been doing a lot lately...), but I haven't got one of those "surf all you can with a fixed cost" connections yet. So if I go surf now, I'll have to pay an arm and a leg for it >_<

So, with nothing to do I decided to blog :D Yes, I know, I do this way too little nowadays. There's always something more interesting to do - usually something that involves people. Nowadays I spend all my time in IRC and Facebook, or if I'm not online, I'm usually at S-Osis, seeing people in real life. I should copy all my Facebook updates here, then I'd have some action on this site, too :P

Only a few weeks ago I spent quite a lot of time just laying around home, usually watching tv. I've had one of those down-and-idle periods this spring. I suppose it's mostly been because my boyfriend Nil had a hard time in the winter and subsequently was tired in the spring. Those things tend to catch, when living together. However, he just shook up my life by breaking up with me a few weeks ago, so I've been restarting my brain, and my life at the same.

I've started going to the gym! It's a bit weird, because I've always thought gyms are silly places. But I've gained a lot of weight again and I need to get rid of it. I've been trying since Christmas, but somehow it doesn't seem to work when you're feeling depressed and tired :P Anyhow, exercising feels awesome. I just hope I'll keep healthy, because I already had to postpone starting Project Megabaybe with one week because I got a flu :( I'm still coughing, but then again I always cough for two months after a flu... My lungs have never been my best part, and they're getting worse and worse with every allergy season. But maybe I can help them, too, a bit with this exercise routine <3

This summer I had a super extra special summer holiday: we went to Japan and China for a month with Nil and leppis. We started with a week in Tokyo, visited Miura Peninsula (where Yokohama kaidashi kikou takes place) for a night, continued to Kyoto for another week, stayed in Osaka for a couple of days and stopped in Hiroshima before getting on a boat in Shimonoseki. After two nights at sea we arrived in Taicang harbour, from where we got to Suzhou. We were supposed to see the solar eclipse there, but it was raining so hard that we couldn't see anything :( Finally we spent a couple of days in Shanghai and Beijing. Despite the humongous fail with the eclipse, the trip was a bunch of fun, and a bunch of "experience".

Japan was sweet as always, but China was a lot more demanding than I anticipated. It felt like everyone was trying to get something from us, legally or illegally, and we understood nothing. Illegal taxi drivers tried to charge us ten times the normal fare and even a legal one charged triple... And none of them (at least the legal ones) would even look at a map if it wasn't written in Chinese. I suppose China would be a great place to go to on an arranged holiday, but backpacking was a bit harsh - we didn't visit any sights, because we were too tired to find out where they were. And everything was so loud and messy and unorganized! And all of us got a stomach flu! But after all, I'm glad I've seen that country, and there were some very good moments too :D The hostels were very nice, I especially recommend Koala Garden House in Suzhou. It was a very pretty and cozy place.

Another place I really recommend is an expensive ryokan (Japanese inn) in Kyoto or some small town. Don't go for the middle-priced ones, because they're expensive enough to make a dent in your budget, but not fine enough to be worth the money. (That's my limited experience of having slept in one middle-prized ryokan ;P Okay I researched a lot, too.) After a series of unexpected twists in our lodging plan we ended up reserving a quite expensive ryokan for that night in Miura, because there were no cheaper places around. It stinged, but when we arrived at the place we realized it was really worth the money. The room was fabulous, there was a hot spring bath, and to top it off we got a huge dinner featuring about 20 different fish and sea creature dishes. It was one of the best hotels I've even been to.

Oh! The train has finally reached it's destination. Well, I think that covered the high points of late, so I'll finish here and pack my stuff so that I can get out of here :)
